A Secure Real-time Multimedia Streaming through Robust and Lightweight AES Encryption in UAV Networks for Operational Scenarios in Military Domain

This article proposes a framework of application-level security, an HW-SW implementation low-cost solution for real-time multimodal data encryption and decryption security applications in protected environments like espionage, situational awareness, monitoring, counter-UAV. Data is captured from drones equipped with microphone arrays cameras. performed by exploiting acoustic event analysis, video tracking, recognition, on ground station. All the communications are delivered secure channel. Integrity secrecy sensitive acquired must be guaranteed until UAVs to destination node. A possible exploit may cause critical problems if intercepted malicious attackers. Being low energy consuming devices computational power, single-board-computers, lightweight AES encryption, addition MAC wireless communication channel, has been considered. In experiment, process optimized, even under adverse transmission conditions ensuring continuous some packets lost or connection repeatedly dropped reestablished.
